Jr Youth

Welcome to UUMC Junior Youth

The Unionville Junior Youth program is about getting and keeping the youth involved in the church and learning more about God. We do community projects and fund raising to provide opportunities for the youth to go and do missionary work in the community.

December 2016 Junior Youth Newsletter

I wanted to let everyone know what the youth has been doing so far this year. The youth have sold all the calendars for 2017 that we had. We are still selling Anderson candy bars and hope to be done with them soon. Last week the youth made Thanksgiving card to be sent to our homebound members. We also have sold pies for Thanksgiving that will be ready for pick up on Sunday 11/20 after worship service. If any of the youth can help on Sunday to pass out the pie orders please let me know. The benefit from the sells will go to the Unionville Pantry to help families with their Thanksgiving and Christmas.

On November 29th we will be going to Hosanna Industries to tour the campus and learn some skills that they use on all the work that this organization does. We will meet at the church at 6:00 pm and we will be back to the church by 8:00 pm. I am hoping that all the youth can make it so that they can see some of what our mission trips are like and the things that they do.

On Dec. 6th and Dec. 13th we will be making Christmas cookies for the Annual Cookie Walk that will be on Sunday December 18th following worship service. The women will be helping with either making of cookies or providing some cookies for the youth.

The youth will be filling bags for the prisoners again this year. We will do cards for them and fill with candy.

The youth and their families are welcome to have breakfast with Santa on December 4th right after worship service. We will also have game night on December 20th.

We will be off December 27th.

May 2016 Junior Youth Newsletter

We had another great year with some good fundraising, outings, lunch and dinner serving to others and just getting to learn more about Jesus in our lives. I have enjoyed the great group of kids that I had this year and look forward to having them next year and the new kids that will join us.

The youth are selling Anderson candy bars again so if you would like any to sell just let me know and I will get them to you.

We had a great turn out the Boy Scouts dinner on April 16th. Thank you for all the youth that was able to help.

I would like to see some of our youth go to camps this summer and we have the money to send them. Please think about it and let me know if any are interested. We can also do a week or weekend at Hosanna Industries if anyone is interested.

We will be meeting on May 10th to help with painting for VBS. You are welcome to come at 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and we will help paint and talk about what we can do over the summer.

Junior Youth to Help Serve Boy Scout Dinner - April 17th

The youth will be helping the men serve dinner to the Boy Scouts on April 17th at the church. I would like to have all the youth there to help with dinner. We will share in the profits with the men.
his will be our last big get together since out last meeting will be April 26th.

On March 12th the youth will be hosting the Boy Scouts for their afternoon of training. We will provide donuts, coffee and lunch as a fund raiser. I would like the youth to be at the church by 9:00 am to 2:00 pm to help. If you can only give me one hour of your time that would be great. Our busy time is about 11:30 am to 12:30 pm when they break for lunch.

March 14, 2016 . . .

Thank you to Walt Everly, Pastor Doug, Mark Mohrbacher, Anthony Mohrbacher, Isabella, and Audrey for their help with the Boys Scout Lunch that we served on  Saturday 3/12 for over 200 people. This was a great fund raiser for the Youth and the Scouts and Leaders really appreciate it.

This week we will be stuffing eggs again for the Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday 3/20. Everyone is welcome out and join us for a luncheon after worship service (bring covered dish) and then the Egg Hunt.

We will not meet on March 22nd so the youth can enjoy the Holy Week and you are welcome to come to any of the worship serves that week.
