The Unionville Food Pantry was started by Nancy Liston and Alice Ketterer when they saw a need in the community to serve people who didn't fit the requirements for federal assistance.

The Unionville Food Pantry is a community food pantry, located at the Unionville Methodist Church 1297 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074 (New Sewickley Township), and run by Compassionate Ministries of the church. The pantry is supported by local churches, organizations and Freedom Schools. The food pantry is a community effort to feed those in need in New Sewickley Twp., Freedom, Rochester, and New Brighton areas.

The pantry is open from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month. Those in immediate need of food can be served anytime.

Clients are asked to called Jo Shane in advance to place their order. Orders are prepared, and volunteers place the clients order in their vehicle. Clients are asked to not leave their vehicle or enter the building. Clients who do not place an order in advance will get a pre-packeged container of food.

Donations to the food pantry or requests for assistance can also be made through the following supporting churches, or you may have your donation delivered to the church by the store where you made you purchase if they offer that service.
